1976
Parish constituted Castleknock parish was constituted from Blanchardstown parish on 9 July 1976, initially including areas that later became the separate parishes of Laurel Lodge, Porterstown and Clonsilla.
1978
Wooden cross placed on site A large wooden cross was placed on the church site on 19 November 1978, ahead of construction.
1980
Construction begins Construction of the church ran from 1980 to 1983.
1983
Official opening The church was officially opened on 17 March 1983 by Archbishop Dermot Ryan.
