Timeline
-
1883
Parish separated from Blanchardstown (per general reference) A general reference states that Chapelizod parish separated from the parent parish of Blanchardstown in 1883, as one of twelve parishes created following the relaxation of the Penal Laws. This conflicts with the Archdiocese of Dublin's own listing, which gives 1955.
-
1953
Navan Road parish separated The eastern portion of Chapelizod parish was constituted separately in 1953 as the Navan Road parish of Our Lady Help of Christians.
-
1955
Parish constituted (per Archdiocese of Dublin listing) The Archdiocese of Dublin's own parish listing records Chapelizod as constituted in 1955 from Chapelizod and Clondalkin. This conflicts with a general reference giving 1883 for the parish's separation from Blanchardstown.
