Housing development begins Residential development in the Donaghmede area began around 1970, eventually growing to around 6,000 homes.

1974
Parish constituted Holy Trinity Parish was constituted in 1974, formed from Grange Park, serving the Donaghmede, Clongriffin and Balgriffin areas.

1977
Foundation stone laid Archbishop Dermot Ryan laid the foundation stone of the church in July 1977.

1978
Church opened The church opened in December 1978.
People
- Joe Collins First parish priest, 1975 to 1979 — Established early parish structures and the Trinity Gaels GAA club; died six months after the church opened, and Fr Collins Park is named in his memory.
- Dermot Ryan Archbishop of Dublin who laid the foundation stone — Laid the foundation stone of the church in July 1977.
- Dermot O'Mahony Administrator who dedicated the parish — Appointed administrator of the area by Archbishop Dermot Ryan, and dedicated the parish to the Holy Trinity.
