The parish history states this was the first church in Ireland to carry the title of Corpus Christi.

When the permanent church opened, the temporary tin structure of 1924 was dismantled and re erected in Larkhill parish, according to Archiseek.

The 52 foot dome rests on four semicircular arches, with plaster reliefs of the four Evangelists and attending angels between them.

Temporary tin church opened A temporary red tin church opened on 6 July 1924 and served the area as a chapel of ease within Glasnevin parish until the permanent church was ready.
1938
Site work began Work on the site of the permanent church began on 25 September 1938.
1939
Foundation stone blessed Bishop Wall blessed the foundation stone on 8 October 1939.
1941
Church blessed and opened Archbishop John Charles McQuaid blessed and opened the church on 25 May 1941.
1949
Building debt cleared The parish history records that the 83,000 pound building debt was cleared by Christmas 1949.
1953
Parish of Corpus Christi established Corpus Christi was officially established as a parish on 27 March 1953, having operated until then as part of Glasnevin parish.

Robinson and Keefe Architects of the church — The Dublin partnership Robinson and Keefe designed the church, per the NIAH, Archiseek and the parish history, which spells the name Keeffe.
John Charles McQuaid (1895-1973) Archbishop of Dublin, blessed and opened the church in 1941 — Archbishop McQuaid blessed and opened Corpus Christi on 25 May 1941, a few months into his long tenure as Archbishop of Dublin.
